#KidsAcademy : Fun and Educational Kids App

In this generation of technology, our children learns faster through online. It is our job as parents to supply them with educational learning materials that will sharpen their cognitive skills as well as the affective skills. Well, by using their hand to manipulate the games is under psychomotor skills so; there goes the balance of learning. Of course, going out to the museum , to the parks and other physical activities are equally important too. For now, I will share with you the apps that I found helpful, fun and educational for children.

I was a school teacher and I know when an app is fun and educational for the little ones. This app is colorful which for sure kids will be drawn to the game easily. The voice used is very natural, enthusiastic, and engaging therefore, kids will be jolly to do the tasks in this game. I like the idea that this app promotes values of patience and the willingness to learn. Aiming to gather more fireflies will make the kids to do the task right and even try harder. Tracing is easy if it is done right. Once the kid trace the number correctly, there are praises at the end of every task which is a good motivation. I like the idea that it promotes a reward system. Do it right, more fireflies plus word of encouragement. I love this app.

This app is easy for the kids too. Parents will be there to guide their children. In this particular game, the puzzle is challenging but, parents should not underestimate the skills of their children. Kids learn fast. If the kids are attentive enough, this puzzle is easy to solve.

Learning the Alphabet should be fun and interesting. I like to see the eyes of my students lit up every time they learn, say, trace and write a letter. The excitement is a joy to my heart. It means that they are open to know more and their inquisitive minds are ready to strike. This game is not only fun but educational as well. The app uses common things that kids easily recognized such as the bee and bus in the letter B. I like the idea that the app also introduced the sound of the alphabet and phonics. Pre-school children can easily manipulate the game thus making the game enjoyable and fun.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kid's Academy. I only recommend products I used personally and believed will be good for my readers. All opinions are my own.

Great Educational Tools for Teachers

One of the most fundamental building blocks for human development is Education. I believe that when majority of the people is Educated, there will be a poverty reduction. From Preschool, Primary, Secondary, College to University, these are ladder to success and are important. In Preschool years, children are taught the alphabet, counting, recognize the shapes as well as the colors and these activities are designed for basic learning. While the Primary, Middle Schools and High School are the formal and structured education.

Children are expected to read with comprehension, write and be able to use mathematical skills not only in school but, daily living. These days, technology is highly considered as the influential factor in education. In fact, computers are used to develop new ways of learning. Technology is a powerful learning tool. It demands new skills. As I noticed, children prefer the virtual learning environment because they are susceptible to learn fast.

When children research online, wide range of information is easily accessed. Learning is very effective using the technology. Speaking of technology, it is also very effective to use as instruction to students. The use of technologies such as PowerPoint and interactive whiteboard captures the attention of students in the classroom. If you are a teacher, I bet you already mastered the strategies for teaching.

I taught first grade for twelve years and my strategy for teaching vary each class in each year. Having the right tool would help the teacher accomplish the objective for the class.

The products from mentoringminds.com such as Motivation Math, Standards and Strategies Flip Charts, Vocabulary Adventure and more are great Educational tools for teachers. According to Mitzi McAfee, the Principal of Jackson-Roosevelt Elementary, Motivational Math helps the teacher's job done easy and the students are more successful.

Educational Tools like this truly aide the teaching strategy of teachers and the students yielded a positive outcome. If you are a teacher, check out this Website today.

Homeschool: The Ideal Way to Learn

"One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child" says Maria Montessori.

My friend does not have a driver’s license and that was the deciding factor why she said yes to homeschool her eldest daughter. Back in her home country, she was an elementary teacher by profession and after marriage; she has chosen to become a full time mom to three beautiful children. She is an ideal mom and her children adored her especially her eldest daughter. At one year old, the little girl learns the sound and letter names of the alphabet. She was a very intelligent child and very much eager to learn new things. Her first teacher is the mother and presently, she is enrolled to homeschool. The little girl enjoyed her activities and lessons in fact; her lessons are design according to her learning capability.

My friend is at ease having her daughter learns the lessons at home with her. Parents have numerous reasons why they like to homeschool their children. They are scared for their children. It could be about the school environment where parents are anxious about. Other parents are reluctant to send their children to school because of the religious and moral instruction taught in school. They do not want their child influenced by other faith other than what they have. Some parents prefer homeschool because they are not satisfied with the academic instruction at either public or private schools. For whatever reason it may be, homeschool is an ideal program for children whose parents have the time and patience to make it happen.

Bridgeway Free Learning Style Assessment is a great example of institution trusted by parents mainly because it is accredited through AdvancEd and SACS CASI. Knowing that status, parents are confident that their curriculum meets the Educational standard. No wonder that my friend wishes to continue to homeschool her daughter for another year.

Philippine Team For SEA Games

Note: I support the good cause of this group, please send your support to the information given below. "Mag-Bayanihan Tayong Mga Pinoy!"

Guest Post: Antonio Levy S. Ingles, Jr.,Ph.D.

Dear Friends,

God bless you more!

Please assist a Teacher-Athlete and her teammates in the SEA Games...

Lenita Reyes Otadoy, Joanna Franquelli and Jyllyn Nicanor (Philippines Women's Sabre Fencing Team) have been chosen to compete in the upcoming SEA Games in Jakarta, Indonesia by the Philippine Fencing Association on November 13-18, 2011.

To compete, they have to find sponsors, donors and patrons for their airfares, board and lodging and allowances (pocket money).

Although their training in China is all expense-paid through the Philippine Fencing Association this October, unfortunately there is no more enough budget to shoulder their expenses on the actual days of competition.

Each of them only needs Php 50,000 to pay for the above for their 10 day-stay in Jakarta. They are very much willing to put the company logo of the sponsors, donors and patrons in their uniforms.

Please support them by finding a company/individual to sponsor them. Please Support The Philippines Women's Sabre Fencing Team! Please Support Lenita Reyes Otadoy, Joanna Franquelli and Jyllyn Nicanor!

Professor Reyes-Otadoy PE Faculty of University of the Philippines (and my colleague here at De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde) was recognized as an Outstanding Athlete for bringing honor and glory to the country which she represented in various local and international tournaments and by winning several awards.

Professor Reyes-Otadoy won the Silver Medal in the Annual Dayrit Cup Fencing Championships on June 19, 2009 and the Gold Medal in the same tournament in 2008. She also organized the UP Sabre Fencing Varsity Team which finally won the gold in UAAP.
