Title Learning to Avoid Future DUIs

Driving is such a quotidian endeavor that you sometimes forget the sheer power you yield when behind the wheel. When you drive every day, you can forget that your life and the lives of those around you rest on your ability to safely operate your vehicle with as little distraction as possible. You should never get too comfortable when it comes to driving. If you’ve ever operated a car while under the influence of illicit drugs or alcohol, you haven’t simply gotten too comfortable. You’ve become downright reckless and criminally negligent. Driving under the influence causes thousands of senseless deaths each year. Unfortunately, not everyone who drives while drunk or high will be caught by the authorities. However, if you have been pulled over and arrested for drunk driving, you have an opportunity to relearn the importance of staying in complete control while operating a vehicle. By going to an Atlanta DUI school, you can correct gross negligence and alcoholic behavior.

What You Will Learn

Once you’ve been convicted or pled guilty to a DUI charge, your judge will recommend that you undergo a clinical evaluation. Many times the very facility that offers DUI classes will be able to complete this evaluation for you. At the evaluation, a treatment counselor will assess whether or not you need to take classes and learn skills that will help you avoid driving under the influence in the future. For example, a counselor conducting a DUI class might help you learn how to recognize when you are too intoxicated to drive a car. They may also teach you how to get into the habit of designating a sober driver if you and your friends are going to be drinking socially. In some of the longer treatment courses, you may discuss the pitfalls of alcohol and drug addiction. You’ll be given time to process emotional problems as well, and receive assistance in recognizing the triggers that drive you to abuse alcohol and drugs. Then, you’ll learn positive steps that you can take to overcome these triggers without resorting to substances.

Better Living through Treatment

While your treatment will ultimately be by order of your local justice court, it’s important to not look at treatment as an inconvenience or an obligation. On the contrary, going to an Atlanta DUI school could be the very thing that turns your life around and helps you live more productively without allowing alcohol or drugs to destroy your future. Many people who have been ordered to go to substance abuse counseling or DUI classes have often found themselves much better off by the end of their course. Ultimately, it will be to you and your attitude about taking these courses. You must ask yourself if you’re willing to learn and better yourself or if you’re simply going through the motions. Hopefully, you’re willing to learn.

Homeschool: The Ideal Way to Learn

"One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child" says Maria Montessori.

My friend does not have a driver’s license and that was the deciding factor why she said yes to homeschool her eldest daughter. Back in her home country, she was an elementary teacher by profession and after marriage; she has chosen to become a full time mom to three beautiful children. She is an ideal mom and her children adored her especially her eldest daughter. At one year old, the little girl learns the sound and letter names of the alphabet. She was a very intelligent child and very much eager to learn new things. Her first teacher is the mother and presently, she is enrolled to homeschool. The little girl enjoyed her activities and lessons in fact; her lessons are design according to her learning capability.

My friend is at ease having her daughter learns the lessons at home with her. Parents have numerous reasons why they like to homeschool their children. They are scared for their children. It could be about the school environment where parents are anxious about. Other parents are reluctant to send their children to school because of the religious and moral instruction taught in school. They do not want their child influenced by other faith other than what they have. Some parents prefer homeschool because they are not satisfied with the academic instruction at either public or private schools. For whatever reason it may be, homeschool is an ideal program for children whose parents have the time and patience to make it happen.

Bridgeway Free Learning Style Assessment is a great example of institution trusted by parents mainly because it is accredited through AdvancEd and SACS CASI. Knowing that status, parents are confident that their curriculum meets the Educational standard. No wonder that my friend wishes to continue to homeschool her daughter for another year.

Reminiscing my Time as a Classroom Teacher

Yesterday, I was viewing some of the pictures that I was tagged by some of my friends in Facebook. As I was looking at their classroom pictures, seeing the happy faces of children on their Nutrition Month celebration, and having the good time sharing their food, it just dawned on me that I miss my job as a classroom teacher.

The day before Recognition Day, I migrate to the US. I was at the airport when my co-teacher called the names of the honor students of my class. Some active parents knew that I was leaving for good and some were caught by surprise.

My decision to quit my job and find a new career was a relief for me. I had to wake up at 4 AM and start commuting at 5 AM from my home to my workplace. I go home late finishing my lesson plan, clean the room, and setting my class for the next day. Sometimes, one of my co-teachers, who died last year of cancer, had to sit in my room and wait for me. We go home at dusk time. I arrived home between 7-8 in the evening sooo tired from school and traffic. Sometimes, I sleep without dinner and waking up at 4 AM the next day ... oh, and most of the time; I skip breakfast (mom nagged me all the time for that) ... such a tiring routine for 12 years huh?

I made a request for transfer to a nearby school in the uptown where I live. My application was piled on the back seat. I love my work. I love my 60 students and I had no complains with all my supportive parents at school and the community. I enjoyed the company of my co-teachers and though I was not the favorite of one of the principals in my school, I had no grudge with anyone.

I am not a healthy person I should say. I had migraines almost every week (slight smell of gasoline and scorching heat would get me sick) but, I was always present at school. In one year, I probably had 1 or 2 absences. I am so proud of my students. They are well behaved especially when I had migraine attack. When I had migraine, I would throw up in the bathroom while they are doing their seatwork. They are such beautiful children.

I was the tiniest teacher in my school and I was living the farthest too commuting 6 times in a day. I told myself, 12 years is enough. I should think about my health, my life and my family so; I filed a resignation. I am happy right now. I just miss my classroom and everything in it. Most of all, I miss my students. The last batch is in fifth grades now. I just wish them good luck :-).

Learn About This Universary

I have been planning for many months now to go back to school and pursue my Master's Degree. I have few subjects left and I wanted to enroll in an online school. I was able to work in one of the schools here but, I need more training. WaldenU.edu offers Walden University's online degree programs and I am currently checking on their courses. I want to work and at the same time finish my Master's Degree at my own pace. Therefore, online school would be my best option.

Most of the people had to go back to school to change career path. That is my dilemma too because I am not sure if I like to teach and be in the Educational System. Working in a health related job inspired me a lot. I have been contemplating to work as a nurse too. It will take me years to finish this course but, it will be rewarding too. Anyway, I am trying to learn about Walden and checking what option I can get.

Of course, I am not closing my door to teaching because I love to teach. What concerns me most is the availability of jobs in my area. I have more chances to land a job in health industry than in the school industry. Either way, I will enroll in an online course and that will be my goal.

Scouting Activities

I snagged these photos from Mr. Alex Ventero, a Boy Scout Coordinator of Agusan Elementary School from the East 11 District. The Boy Scouts are having a camping activity inside the school premises every year. They are well supported by their parents as well as the community. I miss this event. During the Scouting Month, I always have a part of the KAB Scout's investiture ceremony either the leader or the assistant plus, the emcee. Scouting activity was so much fun. In fact for twelve years, I was leaning on the Boy Scout than Girl Scout Activities. That was too ironic because when I was in Elementary, I was so active with Girl Scout Jamboree and other related activities exclusive for girls. I miss the campfire at night and the games they compete to play to promote camaraderie and sportsmanship. I miss that.

Planning To Enrol In A Business School

After my graduation from a University, I took a Master's Degree in School Management. During the first day of class, I realized that my classmates were principals, school owners and being the youngest in my class, I feel intimated. One of my professors said, I should enjoy my life while I am young and come back when I am older. I can't handle the pressure so; by second semester, I call it quits. After five years, I decided to finish my master's degree but, when I enrolled again, it seemed that my interest diverted to another direction. And here I am, time had passed me by and I did not finish my master's degree.

If you want to accomplish something, you should pursue it right there at that moment. Follow what you desire most in life. If you want to accomplish something for personal reasons, do it and do not let anyone stop you. Whether you want to pursue a master's degree such as business school colorado or mba colorado, do it now because time is the essence here. When you are young, your adrenalin to gain more knowledge is at the top. You just need to have that drive to pursue what you really want in life. Do not make the same mistake as I did. If you want to have a personal accomplishment like finishing a master's degree, reward yourself. If you think a colorado business school is good for you then, pursue that dream now.
