Endeavour Landing

This is the sky of Orlando this afternoon. It rained and even have Tornado warnings in some areas. That is why, Endeavour decided to land in California. The shuttle glided to a smooth landing at the backup site at Edwards Air Force Base today after aborting its first landing attempt due to dangerously high winds and a stormy sky.
Endeavour and it's 7 astronauts were returning from a 16-day "home-improvement" mission at the International Space Station (ISS). How much does it cost NASA to detour the landing of Endeavour? It is wooping 2 million dollars. Wheww...bad weather!

These are the pictures that shows my childlike mood...hahaha. I love this place. We had a breakfast at this time and took some shopping with their elegant goodies...kitchenware, gift items...chocolates and candies... This is Florida Mall...huge...they got Macy's here and Victoria Secret...my favorites...
Opppss, meet Mr.M&M...yummy ha...
I am just enjoying this moment...

Thanksgiving Meal Says What?

When it comes to the holidays, you follow and love the big traditions. You look forward to them every year.

You see the holidays as a time to be close to loved ones. It's a good time to reconnect and make memories.

You like the aspects of the holiday that remind you of your childhood - opening presents, treats, and old favorite foods.

During the holidays, you are likely to feel generous. At your worst, you feel exhausted.

You consider yourself a big kid, and you're proud of it.

You tend to spend your holidays relaxing. Holidays are your down time.

What Does Your Thanksgiving Meal Say About You?

This will be my first thanksgiving celebration. The test questions that i answered gets me into this summary. Hmmm...jawdropped!

A Piece of History - PILIPINAS

What happen in the year 1971? This year is significant to me coz it was the year that I was born. I posted in Amiable Amy that it was the year when Plaza Miranda was Bomb and series of events followed after. Ferdinand Marcos at that time is the President of the Philippines and his government was threatened by communist insurgency and civil unrest thus, the following year he proclaimed Martial Law.

During Edsa People Power, people go out and express their sentiments on the street. This is People Power and which ended peacefully.
During Marcos Regime, most of the opposition leaders were put in jail and exiled including Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. In order to please the Catholic Church before the visit of Pope John Paul II, Marcos officially lifted martial law on January 17,1981. However Marcos retained much of the government's power for arrest and detention. Basically, corruption and nepotism as well as civil unrest contributed to a serious decline of the Philippine economy at that time.

1983, opposition leader Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. was assassinated at the Manila International airport upon his return to the Philippines after a long period of exile. This resulted an anger and too much dissatisfaction by the people with the Marcos regime, including pressure from the United States, that culminated in a snap presidential election in February 1986. The opposition united under Aquino's widow Corazon Aquino. The election were held on February 7, 1986

The election was marred by widespread reports of violence and tampering with results by both sides of the political fence. The official election canvasser which is the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and NAMFREL, an accredited poll watcher declared Marcos as a winner. The allegedly fraudulent result was not accepted by Corazon Aquino and her supporters. International observers, including a U.S. delegation led by Sen.Richard G. Lugar also denounced the official results. Thus PEOPLE POWER, the peaceful civilian-military uprising forced Marcos into exile and installed Corazon Aquino as president and the first woman President of the Philippines on 25 February 1986. Marcos regime lasted for 2 decades. That's how the history unfold from the time I was born.

The Faces and the Places

I visited Samal Island, Davao a few years back. I brag about it to my friend but when she went last month and sent me these pictures, can't help but share it with you guys (with permission). Filipinos are famous for it's warmth hospitality, family oriented culture and deep appreciation of bonding with friends and loves the nature at its best. The lighter side of the Philippines with 7,107 islands to enjoy is the richness of it's amazing beaches, beautiful mountain and friendly people. Language is not a problem when you come to visit Philippines, 98% of the population can communicate English.

Pictures of my friends...they are enjoying the meals at Jollibee Fast Food....see the Friendly Smiles of Filipinos, it can launched a thousand meaning ....FRIENDSHIP.
My friend enjoying the beach at Samal Island, Davao. From this point to the adjacent island, boat ride costs 15 pesos (less than a dollar)...when I went there the last time I guess it's only P10. Anyways, they are teachers in a Private School and having a Teacher's Day Out, all expenses paid by a book company. That is the advantage of being in a private school, exploring the places.
On the way to Paradise Island, the entrace fee is more or less $2.20 ...it is P100.00. I remember that I enjoyed that ride.
The beutiful teachers in their Smiling Faces....CLICK!
The beach has complete amenities like booths , pool, bed and breakfast, animal sanctuary too.

Just a peek of the Faces while posing with the mountainside as the background.
A religious and sacred place.... a real sanctuary in Davao.
That is all folks...i am in a hurry...hehehe..see yah later. That is my friend too.

Friendship tag

Got this award from Grace...a blog that talks about The World as her Family, cool ha ? Thanks girl.....this award is really worth a treasure for bloggers.
And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship's flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship's flower will bloom for you.

Be passing this award to the following bloggers : Nikki for making my day grinning everytime she post something so interesting, Renna for sharing her thoughts about just anything that is important ,texas.. for just knowing her never-ending story, Youngest for a family-oriented blog that inspire me, My girl for making me feel like a child again, maicel for such a model mommy , Chikkador for updating my entertainment awareness and Joops for such an inspiring person who just love to express his love to his family. Be an Instrument

Before I sleep at night, I always find time to look for inspiring stories or spiritual passages just to make my day complete with a reflection about LIFE. Brother Sanchez is one of the people that I admire for being so eloquent about God's words. Today, he shared a story about "Heaven Has Delicious Tinola Today", read it yourself and you will find out.

Downtown Orlando

These view can be found in Downtown Orlando. The Summerlin Park is really beautiful and people commonly called it Lake Eola Park which has a sinkhole type of lake and the fountain is famous for it. The fountain changes colors at night like a light show and in the daytime it looks like a UFO landed in the pond. According to Wikipedia, the lake is 4,529 feet in circumference and 23 acres large. A 0.85-mile (1.37 km) multi-use sidewalk circles the water. Since I walk around the circumference, these are the pictures I got in each angle. Have fun!

Salute to First Grade Teachers

They are the group that I left behind after I relocated to the US. I have been in the service for 12 years teaching first grade and it is really a noble profession .... hardwork, patience and perseverance needed. Guess I have my sudden twist of course. Yet, I miss them, my classroom and my pupils. On this day, I send them something to unwind and become free from the routine sight of school. I missed the rants and raves of which we shared after work. The funny experiences we had with our pupils. Not only joys... we shared sorrows of losing our co-teachers for good along the years.

Think Again

When I was assigned as an Elementary teacher in a remote area of Mindanao- Philippines, one of the farthest school located in the southwest area of a city...water is too precious to waste. We have to walk downhill in a very narrow pathway and sometimes baby snakes passed across the road (nature hike indeed) and footsteps eventually lead us to a big boulder embraced by a gigantic old tree and it looks like this picture. It was an experienced that humbled me so much of what I have today.

Awakening !Difference is visible right? Think again.

A Little Respect

One of my favorite blogs that I really follow is Nikkicrumpet. Simply because of the type of music she featured each time and the kind of artistic inclination she posted in anything that matters on her life and surroundings. Everytime I visit her blog, I always keep wondering how could she write simple things and yet made a big impact ...so, it never was simple after all. The topic today is about a button picture with UNDO word on it.

She posted pictures which really amused me as always and the bottom photo is Obama. And I noticed that she got more than a hundred comments on it. It maybe not so funny after all but, she has her own opinion and is entitled to it. Some just take it as a Humor just like when you see Sarah Palin holding guns or in a fake naked body. But, in this case, Obama supporters really take it seriously and so, hate comments flowing in.

Sarah Palin's supporters were very offended of so many below the belt attacks yet, they managed to be civil. Because of Button and Obama's Face included in the humor blog, reactions flowing in. Where is the CHANGE people? Let us RESPECT each other... Blog your own ideals and sentiments in your blog.....just like what Nikki did but please refrain from throwing hate words/comments. Nikki , Keep Blogging!

Halloween for Kids

Children loves halloween and I was just happy to see them knocking on doors and trick or treatin' in full costumes. Little one's are so cute. It is the time for them to wear something they want to pretend. Either become a fairy or fearsome characters, they do it for fun.

My Personality Test

Your Attitude is Better than 55% of the Population

You have a positive attitude... sometimes. You prefer to see the world through clear glasses, not rose colored ones.
