Doritos, Television and Me: A Love Story

Thanks for the post from Darrick Moreno

I can't get enough of Doritos, especially when I'm watching television. I like to put them in a large bowl and balance them on my lap so I can reach them easily - both for eating, and for throwing them at the screen when a character does something stupid. Sometimes my crunching can drown out the words, but even this is a blessing when I'm watching something like reality tv. (I shouldn't have a channelsurfing problem when I have direct tv nfl network, but sometimes the remote is so far away...)

When I'm feeling really wild, I like to stock up on a variety of flavors and then mix them in the bowl so I can munch without looking. Every mouthful is an adventure. I can pretend I'm doing something exciting and dangerous, rather than camping out on my sofa with my pajamas and 200 of my closest ranchiest friends.

I can't remember the first time I tried Doritos, but they're a taste that's been with me my entire life. Combined with my favorite shows, they're steadily contributing to making me one happy, tasty, fossilized television owner.

Downtown Disney in CA

California is one of the places that I dreamed to visit. It came to reality last May 6 when I had a vacation using my PTO in the casino. My work place gave us paid time off every month and I did not use it. I used it during this vacation though which was a wise decison. We went to Downtown Disney on my first hour in LA.
It looks similar in Downtown Disney Orlando but, I was still thrilled! Anyway, I had fun taking pictures in the area and I had a good laugh with my friends. I did not go inside the park because it is not worth it. It was already almost five o'clock so, we just take pictures, eat and talk about memories. Lovely!

Footprints in the Sand Lyrics

Here is an inspiring lyrics when you feel alone and no one to turn to. God will always be here for you!

You walked with me
Footprints in the sand
And helped me understand
Where I’m going
You walked with me
When I was all alone
With so much I know along the way
Then I heard you say

I promise you
I’m always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
I’ll carry you
When you need a friend
You’ll find my footprints in the sand

I see my life
Flash across the sky
So many times have I
Been so afraid ooh
And just when I
Have thought I’ve lost my way

You give me strength to carry on
That’s when I heard you say

I promise you
I’m always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
I’ll carry you
When you need a friend
You’ll find my footprints in the sand

When I’m weary
Well I no you’ll be there
And I can feel you
When you say

I promise you
I’m always there
When your heart is full of sadness and despair
I’ll carry you
When you need a friend
You’ll find my footprints in the sand x 2
oooooo mmmmmmmm

Destination - Disney World

Guest post written by my buddy Brian Workman.

Planning a trip that is suitable for twin 5 years old is not small feat. We chose Disney World because they specialize in providing a great family experience. This trip is a secret because it is a birthday present for the kids.

I was able to jump online in the evenings while the kids were playing and check what other mothers were saying about Disney World on the forums and message boards. Thank goodness for laptop batteries and satellite internet because our electricity went out as I was booking the trip.

The websites set up by Disney fans are one of the best reasons to check out a Disney vacation online. I got honest feedback and reviews on the Disney hotels, transportation and tips on saving money while we are there. We chose the Disney dining plan and will take food to our hotel so we eat breakfast in the room to save money. That will allow us to purchase the pictures and souvenirs that the kids want while we are in Orlando.

I always book airline tickets online. It is quick and easy and I avoid any additional fees for booking through an agent. We are all looking forward to this trip to the Magic Kingdom.

John Gidding of HGTV

I can"t remember how I stumbled his name in TWITTER (last year) but since then, I read his twitter updates. The gorgeous man in the picture below is John Gidding, the host of HGTV Curb Appeal: The Block. He is a 33 year old American/Turkish architect. He is a fashion model and an actor. He is a graduate of BA in architecture from Yale University and studied in Harvard Graduate School of Design with Masters in architecture. Now, I am so envious of his educational background, LOL! At least we have one thing in common. Both of us belong to a Glee Club, Yayyy!

Have you seen HGTV's "Designed to Sell"? Well, you are in! He sang acappella with The Yale Society of Orpheus and Bacchus, and also with the Yale Glee Club. While in Harvard, he sang with the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum. How I wish to hear him sing though. As a model, he performed in runway shows for Armani, Gucci, and Hugo Boss. He was also became the spokesmodel for Jhane Barnes in 2004 and 2005. If you love romance novels, John Gidding's face is on the covers too. Watch his show in HGTV and you will surely adore his designs.

Blog Make Over

Now I am disappointed with all these coding that I copy and paste in my blogs HTML. I know I mess them all. I need to change my lay out soon. I am ready for a make over on this blog anyway. I keep the same lay out and design for two long years. All I have to keep is my bloglist though. I will make this blog new by the end of this month!

Orlando Traffic

We had our short vacation in Orlando on the first week of July. I was so excited on our roadtrip and meeting old time friends. We really do not have enough time so we only visit Animal Kingdom and Epcot for a day. Yeah, I know it is truly crazy if you visit two parks in one day. We knew what we want to see so, we save time for that.
Here is the crazy road traffic on the way to Orlando. Of course I do not miss the traffic but I miss being here. This is my home and soon...I will be driving this road everyday!

Missing Dad Today

This is just one of the happy moments I had with Dad. He will always brag to all his friends and family that I am a good barber, LOL! Actually, it was just an experiment and he likes his hairstyle. Dad died at the age of 90. He was a retired Major in the Air Force and served the country for 25 years. We miss him today!

Lighthouse

I never had the chance to go up and view the scenery below from the lighthouse. It always fascinates me to see it on the highway. We have a lighthouse here in Biloxi, Mississippi and it is erected in 1848 and one of the first cast-iron lighthouses in the South. Actually, it is the city's signature landmark and has become a post-Katrina symbol of the city's resilience. Can be seen mostly on the car tags too. From 1848 to 1939, it is operated by a civilian and according to Biloxi museums, the lighthouse is notable for its female lightkeepers. Maria Younghans, served for 53 years. In 1939, the U.S. Coast Guard assumed responsibility for Biloxi Lighthouse and later was deeded to the City of Biloxi.

I have been a resident here for almost two years but never toured the lighthouse. It was March 2010 that the Biloxi lighthouse was re-oepned to public tours. There was a $400,000 restoration which happened for a year and two months. The restoration was funded by FEMA and MEMA.
