Chester M. McPhearson, Jr. Pier

I love showing you the beautiful places here in Mississippi as far as I could go. I am trying to help this place in my little way to attract tourists to visit this place. As you might know it, since this is part of Gulf Coast, the geographic location has its share of pros and cons. Beautiful and Danger! When Hurricane Katrina hit this place (August 2005), not everybody recovered. So many establishments totally swallowed by the sea. Huge vacant lots are visible but, were once a beautiful community. On my part, having seen all these on TV at that time, rekindles my deep sadness seeing how nature struck this place with fury.
Nevertheless, the place are trying to bounce back and live the way it was before. All those houses that you see at the far end are all NEW houses. Owners rebuilt their homes and won't leave this place. I can't blame them. This place is really Enchanting! This pier was damaged too and this is newly constructed and now, its open to the public.

Everyone here loves Fishing as a recreation. And since the weather is fair, people came here for fishing. Open to the public and it is free. BUT, you need to get a permit, good for a year. It cost only $11 and you will enjoy your hobby. A nice past time indeed!
This place is rich with marine life. As a proof, this is what the man got using the net. Good for a week supply right? Visit Ocean Springs, Mississippi and you will love this place really.
