Stay in the Isle Hotel in Biloxi Mississippi

Once a year, my husband and I visit the Gulfcoast of Mississippi. We love this place because of the beach and most people are friendly and family-oriented. I noticed that most activities and festivals that they have are centered to family so; every single member of the household will truly enjoy.I love spending Mardi Gras in Mississippi and the whole family would go to nearby towns like Ocean Springs, D'Iberville, Gulfport, Pass Christian, Gautier and Pascaguola. Christmas in this place is fun too. It's always good to live in a place with friends and family just nearby huh?

Anyway, after we moved to Florida about two years ago, when we visit Biloxi, we always stay in the ISLE Casino and Hotel. We love the view from the Bay and it is centrally located. The price is affordable; the food is great and I so love the buffet. Hubby loves to play the slot machines of course, he was never lucky.

We stayed in this hotel twice and so far, we are satisfied with service. When we can't sleep at night, we go down and play the slot machine or enjoy the affordable good food. If you plan for casino hopping in Biloxi, you should stay in this hotel. You will have the best sunshine view or sunset view, you will enjoy the seafood at affordable price (now, I am hungry LOL), and it's one of the favorite casinos of my late father-in-law. He won many times in his favorite slot machine without spending a $100. We were just envious! Have a good vacation in Biloxi!

Throw Some Beads

"Give me some beads", parade goers would scream that to the krewe. It was such a fun and exciting activity during the Mardi Gras, catching the beads. I got lots of it and ready to ship to my friends back home. The last time, I gave it to a school and parishoners of my mother's church. My sis-in-law gave this beads and I this is my favorite. Do you wanna see the beads that I got? I will post them later.

Well-Decorated House for Mardi Gras

We were in Mississippi for Mardi Gras parade and spent at the ISLE of Biloxi Hotel for 3 nights. We had a blast! Before we drove to the Mardi Gras parade in DIberville, I decided to see my friend who works in Boomtown Casino then, along the way,we saw this well-decorated house, full of Mardi Gras spirit huh?
I thought it's nice to acknowledge the owner for the effort. It was very attractive and lively! If you can't travel to New Orleans, you can set your house into a French Quarter look. This house is located along Porter Street in Biloxi Mississippi. Enjoy the Mardi Gras everyone! Happy Fat Tuesday!

The Gorgeous View from Our Room at the Isle of Biloxi

September was a busy month for us and I wasn't able to share some of the photos because the following months we went cruising to Bahamas then, back to Alabama by December. I only got back into blogging by January, lo and behold, it's now February! Wheww... and we will be back to Mississippi...again! Anyway, this is the view from our hotel room at the ISLE of Biloxi. We have a balcony and we truly enjoyed the view because the land mass across is the city of Ocean Springs. We lived there for 18 months and every day, I saw the Isle Hotel and Casino stood gallantly across the waters.
We like our room because the view of the bay and the Gulf was breathtaking especially at sunrise. This is the Bay Bridge that connects the cities of Biloxi and Ocean Springs along the highway 90.
On this day, I woke up early to catch the glimpse of sunrise. It was foggy and a little chilly but, it was a gorgeous day.
This is the room and the area is a good size with free WiFi.
I always like to have twin beds because I work late at night and I can have all the space I needed without waking up my husband. The picture above is taken from the Bay Bridge as we drove towards the huge building of the Isle Hotel and Casino. This month we will be coming back to Mississippi and stay at the Isle for the Mardi Gras celebration at the Gulf Coast. I will be posting more pictures soon. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful View By the Gulf

This is the bridge connecting two cities of Mississippi along the Gulf Coast, Biloxi and Ocean Springs. It's so beautiful right? The Isle is a hotel and a casino which is located at the tip of this bridge. The Isle is in Biloxi so; across the bridge is Ocean Springs.Still looking at the direction of Ocean Springs, the sunrise was really beautiful that day. Since we have a balcony in the room, we can see the sunshine from the bed. That was an awesome sight! The bay was so calm that morning. The fishermen started to sail. Those are actually shrimp boats coming from the boat dock at the back of Hard Rock Biloxi. In this hotel, we stayed for a day only because we are done with the business transaction the day before. When there is no hurricane, the Gulf is a paradise! Imagine waking up seeing the sunshine glimmering like this.Down below is the parking spaces of the Isle and there are RV's that I saw which are parked down there. Parking your RV's would be okay. Parking space is never a problem down here. Anyway, hubby and I enjoyed our vacation here and we were able to attend a family important event too. We hope to comeback this Christmas or early next year.

The Beau Rivage in Biloxi

Beau Rivage is the largest and grand hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi. This property is one of the 16 MGM Resorts International Properties. Some of it's properties are the following: MGM Mirage, Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay, Luxor and many more. These are hotels and casinos respectively. The picture shown here is the city of Biloxi. The water is the back bay of the Gulf. The tall building at the far end is another hotel and casino called the IP. The green roof on the picture below is the Best Western Hotel. The room that we have is huge 400 sq feet, clean and the bathroom is gigantic with Italian marble floors, amazing feature! I love the deep soaking tub and the separate stall shower is a good layout. There was a third telephone line in the restroom. There was a hair dryer and beautiful make-up and shaving mirror but, no fridge in the room (another set back). We stayed on the 23rd level of the hotel. We love our room but, the only set back is the location of the room which is away from the elevator. We have to pass by 39 rooms to reach the room where we are because it was fully booked!
Our room is really nice and considering we have it at reasonable price, it was all good. I would definitely come back and stay in this hotel.

We have a balcony and the view is truly amazing!Hubby and I booked a hotel stay in the Isle Hotel and Casino. and we have an amazing view of the Gulf, the highway 90 and we can see the beach of the Ocean springs too. This is the Isle Hotel. We ate here yesterday and the prices in the buffet was higher too. This is the entrance of the hotel and we valet our car because we do not want to walk all the way from the garage to the casino area.

The Fun Times

We arrived in Mississippi yesterday around three in the afternoon and the first thing we did after checking in the hotel was drive down the beach. The Gulf of Mexico is the panoramic view from our hotel. The beach is a walking distance and so, we stayed there as we sat comfortably on the available Adirondack chairs. There were Picnic Tables and Park Benches along the beach and anyone can use it for free. The long stretched of beaches along the Beach Boulevard is a good place to unwind and I can sit there whole day watching the sea and enjoying the sea breeze.

During this time of the year, the beach is a beautiful hang out for family and we saw teenagers setting a volleyball net for them to play with friends. At the Ocean Springs Beach, they have a park with the amazing view of the Gulf. That park was financed from the budget allotted to the city from the Katrina fund. They decided that a park would benefit everyone and they added beautiful playground equipment. The children are playing the swing, slides, see saw and water jets. We will be here for the whole week so, I have a lot to share.

Anyway, if you live nearby the beach and wanted to accessorize your patio, visit the links and you can find the items that you need. This company has the infant swing and play system which you can add to your yard for kids to play. The prices of their products are affordable and you should check it out today.

Beach Houses

Houses near the beach are vulnerable to storms and Hurricanes. I had the opportunity to travel from Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana along the scenic routes. It is indeed beautiful to live along these area. But, when the calm seas turns ugly because of Hurricanes, the devastations are beyond imagination. Here is a video that shows the devastation of Biloxi, Mississippi from Hurricane Katrina. This is where I work for almost two years and it is sad to note that at present, you can still see the remnants of the storm. My friends would tell me, they stayed and survive. The hard part was after the storm when they have no food, dead lay on the streets and the rescue took a long time to reach their area.

For those who don't listen to the warnings of the authority, you will pay the price of getting killed. When you have Hurricane Warnings in your area, GO! Do not under estimate the power of Nature. God bless everyone!

By the Garage

The picture below was taken at the back of Hard Rock Biloxi. Actually, this area here is a wharf and nearby is a fishing dock for shrimp boats. Sometimes, a big RV is park on the roadside maybe owned by some artist who are doing doing concerts at Hard Rock.I took this picture from the garage of the hotel. The view from the garage is beautiful. You will be viewing the Gulf of Mexico and Deer Island. The shrimp boats add the charm of the place though and if you want to buy seafood, you can buy it diectly from the fishermen down the dock area at low price compared to the market.

Visiting Beau Rivage in Biloxi

This is our favorite hotel and casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.Just taking time to take pictures inside the hotel.I love their inside garden and these flowers are real.
Taking pictures at the garage to show the Gulf Coast view.
When you travel Highway 90 in Mississippi, you have to visit Beau Rivage, just next to Hard Rock. Check out their casual dining too. For $10/person, you will be satisfied with your meal in the buffet area.

Fishing Boats in Gulf Coast

After my two days trip to the Saint Augustine, I began to appreciate the coast of Florida. No wonder that it is one of the best tourist destinations in the world because it has the beauty of nature, perfect beaches and the weather that you can enjoy to stay outdoor most of the season.I had the privileged of living in Mississippi down the Gulf Coast for almost two years. I must admit, it was equally beautiful. We live just 3 minutes away from the beach and the view was just perfect.
The people are friendly, the food is great, the crime is very low and the place is pretty awesome. Almost every weekend, there are activities in the town and I witness all the happy events in the place.
The wonderful scenery will be seen at the parking garage of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The fishing boats mostly owned by the Vietnamese fishermen in Biloxi. They sell fresh craw fish, shrimps, blue crab, and all kinds of fishes at affordable price. You should come visit this place. The beach and the food are irresistible.

Mardi Gras Parade is FUN

Yesterday was the last day of Mardi Gras parade in Mississippi particularly in Biloxi. Usually, our favorite location to catch the beads in this city is in front of Hardrock Hotel and Casino. The street in this area is very spacious and the city will detour the motorists main road during the parade. I will definitely miss the fun, the crowd and all the happy faces. It's like, when you see everybody, they are all your friends and everybody will smile back at you.
The lil girl on the float is my niece, she was invited to throw beads. The more beads on the float, the merrier because the people who watch the parade is eager to catch the fanciest, the unique beads. For them, it is like a trophy! These pictures were taken last year in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. It was so cold and everybody was covered with a throw blanket. I swear, it was so cold that your nose would start to numb! If you won't join the fun of catching beads, you will be frozen LOL :-) , (joke)!

For two consecutive years, we went to every parade in nearby cities. The biggest mardi gras parade that I love was the mardi gras in D'Iberville in Mississippi. This place has the longest, most decorated floats, and plenty of participants. People came from different direction of the area.

Mardi Gras is indeed different from the parades that we had back home. When you watch Mardi Gras parades, you will participate all through out because you have to catch the beads, moon pies and teddy bears. Remembered my first time, was too shy to wave my hand and get the attention of those on the float :-) When I looked around, I was the only one, sat on my folding chair and everybody else were jumping and tagging the beautiful beads.

I am telling you, it was no fun when you just pick up the beads laying on the streets! When you catch it though, the FUN begins and you want to catch more!

Breakfast at the Beau Rivage

Today, we went to Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino for breakfast. I miss my co-workers in Boomtown so, I arranged a breakfast get-together with Sam and Debbie. It was fun to see them both and catch up with what's going on in their lives. The ambiance of this place is awesome! Did I tell you that this is my favorite casino here in Biloxi? Yes! I love the Beau!
Anyway, Sam is my best friend in my workplace. He is black and we get along good because we are good workers in the casino. You will never see us hiding to get away from the tasks of our job. If it is an 8 hour job, we are up on our feet. We really wished that other workers worked the same as we did but, hey....everyone is different! Debbie is our lead. She is really a hard working lead and like any other boss, she had her share of disappointments when it comes to her subordinates. But, life must go on! Sam and Debbie hang on, extending more patient in the workplace. For me, I had to leave for other reasons.

Here is the gigantic Beau Rivage. If I stay here in Biloxi, I want to work in the hotel especially in the Beau Rivage. If you happen to pass by Biloxi and Highway 90, visit this casino or stay in their hotel. The experience inside is different!

Lighthouse

I never had the chance to go up and view the scenery below from the lighthouse. It always fascinates me to see it on the highway. We have a lighthouse here in Biloxi, Mississippi and it is erected in 1848 and one of the first cast-iron lighthouses in the South. Actually, it is the city's signature landmark and has become a post-Katrina symbol of the city's resilience. Can be seen mostly on the car tags too. From 1848 to 1939, it is operated by a civilian and according to Biloxi museums, the lighthouse is notable for its female lightkeepers. Maria Younghans, served for 53 years. In 1939, the U.S. Coast Guard assumed responsibility for Biloxi Lighthouse and later was deeded to the City of Biloxi.

I have been a resident here for almost two years but never toured the lighthouse. It was March 2010 that the Biloxi lighthouse was re-oepned to public tours. There was a $400,000 restoration which happened for a year and two months. The restoration was funded by FEMA and MEMA.

Ocean Springs-Mississippi

I worked in one of the casinos in Biloxi, Mississippi and when I punched out, my husband and I always have the time to drive by the beach. We love the beach view in Biloxi and Ocean Springs and I love taking pictures of anything that is interesting. I downloaded my pictures right in that second to TWITTER and FACEBOOK. Living in Mississippi is a blessing for me because life here in this place is simple. People here work hard, spends free time to their family, they go to church, they love to eat.... my most favorite amazement, lol and people here loves recreational activities.

This place have so many community activities and take note, they are involved in their community. Whenever they have one, the members of their family are part of it too. That is the greatest thing right? How many people in this world who spent all their lives working and earned millions and die of loneliness without family who cared for them?

The people here are family-oriented which you seldom find in fast paced place. Family, love of God and respect of neighbors are essential aspects to live a good life. The pictures above were taken in Harbor Landing in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. If you happen to pass by here, visit Harbor Landing Yacht Club and have a good lunch in their restaurant. I suggest that you try KICKERS-it's a spicy crab meat, yummy! See you all in Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Beach Boulevard in Mississippi

We went to the mall today and driving on highway 90, beach boulevard area is truly wonderful. The sky is blue though a little chilly but, people have a good time on the beach. Access to all the beaches in Mississippi is FREE. If you have a camper or an RV, you can park your vehicle and enjoy the view on the beach. Another thing that you will notice on the highway is the passenger bus that you can ride from one casino to the other. This bus is called CASINO hopper and the fare is very affordable.
Please visit BILOXI in Mississippi and you will enjoy the food, the beach, the view and the casinos in this area.

Biloxi Schooner Pier Complex

I love taking pictures as most of my blogger friends know. I bought a nice digital camera and since I bought it last January, I still did not download the pictures in my PC. I am frequently using my BB though which I find it very handy and easy to download. Anyway, the pictures below were taken just this week at Biloxi Schooner Pier Complex. If you wanna see the view of this place, click HERE. I love this picture, see the weather? AWESOMENESS, LOL! This is the Pier and at the same time the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum is located. The boats/yachts that you see here are privately owned, docked and lived here. This place is their residence, nice huh?
From where I stand and facing this view, I took a picture on my right and below is the beautiful scenery of the beach on Highway 90. The buildings that you see here are the casino and hotel of Hard Rock Biloxi and Beau Rivage.
On my left side, the Grand Casino hotel and casino is just nearby and those cars are on Highway 90, facing the Gulf of Mississippi.
Still on my left, zooming the further view is the ISLE hotel and casino. It is located right along the bridge connecting the two cities of Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Yes! I love this place because I can wander FREE inside these casino. Awesomeness still? LOL!
If you happen to be travelling to the highway 90 by the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, visit these casinos. You will enjoy staying here to unwind for a week. The beach and the view is truly awesome. The SEAFOOD is truly cheap and affordable. The buffet is each of these casinos are FEASTIVE at low price. Aside from these casinos, there are more: IP hotel and casino, Boomtown casino, Treasure Bay hotel and casino and more. Visit Biloxi, Missippi soon!
